THE BROWNIES

Hello Everyone!

We would like to say massive congratulations to our wonderful Brown Owl and Mr Brown Owl on their wedding.  We all had a fabulous time and hope we done Wilma proud with our version of All Things Bright and Beautiful.  Well we have been practicing for months.

So the wedding of the year aside we have been very busy Brownies.  We had our traditional Scottish Night in January for Burns Night where we read poems, done some Scottish dancing and ate haggis.

We celebrated Chinese New Year by making money wallets, dressing paper dolls in traditional clothes and making dragon pictures.

We have been taking it in turns to read the Brownie story books.  They have been fun and giving us lots of ideas for what to try and what not to do!

At Easter we had an Easter Bonnet Parade; it was very hard to choose the winning hat as they were all Eggstastic!

We have combined our Seasons, Craft and Friends to Animals Badges when making our own bird feeders.

Some of us are looking forward to going away on the Coatbridge Division Pack Holiday.  It will be exciting to meet some new Brownie Friends.

Our New Brownie mascot (Jillian's dog, Rosie) has been coming along to Brownies to visit every so often.  We all really like her coming to visit and get lots of Rosie hugs.  It's funny when she steps in the ring at the end of the night to say goodnight the same way the guiders do.  She is an official Brownie now and she has her very own yellow necktie !!!

We have had a ball in Brownies this term and love seeing our friends every week.  We have made new friends and were sad to see some leave but will see them again soon, when we go to Guides.  We have had lots of fun with games, crafts and songs that our guiders arrange for us.

We are off on holiday until the 28th August.  We are always happy to welcome new friends to our unit so if you know of anyone ages 7 - 11 who would like to come along on Friday nights please contact Wilma on 07936 393582 or Jillian on 01236 429822 or email us at the13thcoatbridgebrownies@hotmail.co.uk or complete an enquiry form online at https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/get_involved.aspx.

Hope you all have a relaxing and enjoyable summer - don't forget your sun cream!
