THE BROWNIES

Hi Everyone

We have enjoyed a fantastic start to the year and have a thriving full Brownie pack.

In January we celebrated Burns Night. The girls had haggis, neeps and tatties, with some of them tasting haggis for the first time and loving it. Followed by shortbread and of course Irn Bru. They enjoyed tossing the caber and Scottish dancing with our own piper David.

February brought us Valentine’s Day making Loveheart trees and lovely picture frames. We then made Chinese hats, dragon masks and dragon magnets for Chinese New Year and combined this with our Thinking Day Celebrations and some food.

During March we had Mother’s Day – made lovely flower bouquets and decorated Butterfly trinket boxes. We finished the month with Easter baskets full of goodies and had an Easter Bonnet Parade. The entries were fantastic and we left it to our pack leaders to pick the winners.

We also had fun in the small hall playing in the dark – well that was with lots and lots of glow sticks. We have never done that before and loved making pictures, flowers and houses with them. Give it a go!!

We have lots of exciting plans up to our Summer break, celebrating the Royal Wedding, Father’s day and end of term fun night.

We have had lots and lots of fun this year and it is great seeing so many girls every week. We will be sad seeing some of our girls move onto Guides at Summer but we are sure they’ll come back and visit us soon.
